I am a fully qualified person-centred counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I offer one to one counselling to adults and young people. I am based in Haddenham in Buckinghamshire and work from a therapy room in central Thame. I will also consider home visits if this works better for you.
I completed my training at a charity youth centre in Aylesbury and have experience of working at the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) within the NHS. If you are a young person or parent concerned about their child, I can offer the support and safe environment that a young person needs to help with their often difficult journey through life. I have experience of dealing with a wide-ranging variety of issues including self-harm, suicide ideation, aggression, anger, generalised anxiety, social phobia, bullying, trauma and relationship situations.
Besides working with young people, I also have experience working with adults. I offer non-judgemental professional support and empathy to explore the issues that you are having difficulty with. Having worked in a corporate environment in previous career roles, I have first-hand experience of work pressures and demands and know the impact that this can have on an individual, together with the associated work related stress.
As a person-centred counsellor any sessions with me will be an opportunity for you to explore what it is that is troubling you and may help you understand yourself better.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and I receive regular supervision in line with BACP regulations. I predominantly work from a therapy room in central Thame, however, my home office location in Haddenham enables a convenient link to Aylesbury, where I also have access to a therapy room. Home visits in the local area can also be arranged depending on personal circumstances.
